The Staff Senate is one of the ways all non-faculty salaried and non-student wage staff can participate in shared governance at Virginia Tech. The Senate is made up of elected representatives from each college and administrative area of the university.

2018 Staff Appreciation Day
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Staff Appreciation Day. This year's celebration will be held on May 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Owens Hall.
Please bring outside chairs or blankets, seating is limited!!
Supervisors are encouraged to allow all staff employees to attend for a minimum of several hours. Please refer to the memorandum from the President's Office. Check out the program for this year’s activities and campus tours.
Registration for tours is required; register online by Thursday, May 3 at 5 p.m. If you are unable to register online, complete the form at the end of the program and return it to the President’s Office. As a reminder, tour spaces are filled by lottery drawing. Tickets will be sent to your campus address prior to Staff Appreciation Day.
It’s time again for Open Enrollment! May 1 – May 15 is your window to make changes to your health care or enroll in flexible spending accounts (FSAs). Make your decisions carefully. Have no health plan coverage changes and not enrolling in an FSA? Nothing is required.
Employees and spouses enrolled in COVA Care and COVA HealthAware can earn a Premium Reward beginning July 1, 2018 by completing or updating a health assessment between May 1 and May 15, 2018. Health assessments submitted before May 1, 2018 will not count for the new plan year.
EmployeeDirect for health benefits remains offline, so you must submit an Enrollment Form for Employees to your Benefits Administrator for enrollment or changes. Instructions are in Spotlight. Remember, the deadline to enroll or make changes is the close of business on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
